  • Fight the Winter Chills?

Last post: saffy on 20.05.13 at 12:38

Now that winter is coming upon us again I think one of the best ways of fighting illness other than the usual remedies is by being positive. Taking time to smile at someone, thinking positive thoughts about others and yourself, finding something funny to laugh at e.g. a comedy programme or a funny DVD. Anything that lifts your spirits as they say is often the best preventative medicine at keeping those bugs away. Read more about Fight the Winter Chills?

  • Designer Clothes.

Last post: saffy on 22.04.13 at 19:26

My designer wear comes from Op Shops including the Red Cross shops which often have brand new clothing from Australia-end of lines. Designer wear is hardly ever in my size but most of all I wear clothing that I'm not worried about getting dirty-I want my kids to be able to hug me even when they havent washed their faces and breakfast is still attached as they certainly are not going to be doing that when they become teenagers. Maybe there is a time and place for designer clothing-before you have children and after your kids have left home (daughter likely to borrow it or claim it as hers) and before you become a grandparent! Frogs are becoming extinct so this may help raise the awareness of their plight. I'd love to hear a real frog croaking in my garden but the next best thing would be a cup of tea in a beautiful frog teapot with some Freddo froggie Biscuits from Cadbury! Read more about Win a Freddo Tea Kit

  • Win tickets to see GREAT EXPECTATIONS

When I was 8 I remember seeing a very old version of this book as a movie. I was terrified what with the convicts and old mrs Haversham still in her wedding dress. I am sure most of the themes were above me. I also read the book later and although quite long it certainly had so many twists and turns and was really well written. You just have to take time to enjoy the book and once you get used to Dicken's writing it is actually a really good thriller. Read more about Win tickets to see GREAT EXPECTATIONS

  • Win a chocolate mint hamper from Nestle

Last post: saffy on 08.03.13 at 10:23

after morning tea I always have a Kool mint or have a chocolate-mint biscuit because my co-workers would prefer mint breath to coffee/tea breath. I can always tell if my kids have brushed their teeth because the flavour is mint and I can always tell if they've stolen mints from the lolly jar! But chocolate and mint is definitely a winning combination. Sometimes I wish that Kool mints were chocolate dipped. Read more about Win a chocolate mint hamper from Nestle
