Nicole Kidman - a career in freefall?

Nicole Kidman was once Hollywood's hottest property, but what has happened to her once flourishing career? After a decidedly wooden performance opposite Colin Firth in The Railway Man, her latest outing as Grace Kelly in Grace of Monaco seems to be the final nail in the coffin. Is she picking the wrong roles or has she just simply gone off the boil?

I personally still enjoy watching her in films, her performance in the railway man I thought was average.

I have yet to see her in grace of Monaco ,but looking forward to it.

I think there are younger actresses now who are hollywoods hottest property

She just need to act in some action movies.

She's a good actress...she just needs to make better role choices. Mind you there are probably not many scripts out there for actresses in her age group.

#5

Never really rated her. Hasn't done a good movies in years.

#6

I've never really enjoyed her movies - she comes across as very serious

#7

I still like her. I just don't think acting is her top priority now that she has two little girls.

#8

I think she is a good actress - people seem obsessed with her weight and if she has had cosmetic surgery. Her own business.

I recently watched "The Hours" (2002) on TV in which Nicole Kidman played Virgina Woolfe. I've never liked this acrtess and have always seen her as somewhat insipid and lightweight; however, this movie has changed my opinion. I discovered later that she received an Academy Ward for Best Actress in this film and she deserved it. From now on, when I hear her name, I will think of this performance rather than the many less memorable roles she has played.

Here is a shot of Nicole as Virginia - you would barely recognise her!

Think she is pretty awesome ... there are always a few bad films!
