Childhood movies

Just as my kids are re-watching The Sound of Music, I was wondering what your favourite childhood movie was? Willy Wonka was another of my favourites. We have this DVD also that they watched a few weeks ago

You are opening up floodgates Rosie. I read your post and so many films from my childhood came wooshing in... dozens and dozens from Hayley Mills features, to classics and cartoons! My Dad absolutely loved movies and would take us whenever he could and then later buy the movies on video for us to watch over and over if we specially liked them!

The Neverending Story, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Transformers: The Movie, Anastasia, and Song of the South. It's really hard to find a decent copy of Song of the South these days. My family has a really worn out video of it. We love the Br'er Rabbit animated sequences a lot.

I remember my mum taking me to see the Sound of Music at the Crystal Palace in Mt Eden whenI was around 5 - that and the ORIGINAL Willy Wonka would be my favourites of all time - I've never been able to bring myself to watch the Johnny Depp version, much as I like him it just isnt right!
