Sculpture of the Gulf – Corporate Hosting
For three weeks only at the height of summer thirty contemporary sculpture and art installations transform a spectacular coastal headland on Waiheke Island.
Considered New Zealand’s premier outdoor sculptural exhibition, the biennial headland Sculpture on the Gulf 2013 provides the perfect opportunity to welcome in the new year and to experience an unforgettable journey of art, nature, wine and food with clients and colleagues.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Sculpture on the Gulf a much expanded ‘Waiheke experience’ awaits visitors in a stunning new purpose‐built Pavilion just two minutes walk from the ferry terminal.
Looking across Matiatia Bay, the Pavilion features a dedicated small sculpture art gallery, other contemporary works from invited artists, bars, a café restaurant with a private VIP area ideal for client entertaining.
From 25 January to 17 February enjoy a unique “taste of Waiheke” including world class wines, craft beers, gourmet food prepared by Masterchef’s Ana Schwarz and French chef Nico Fini – both Waiheke residents, local artisan produce and the best of Waiheke and Auckland live music.
Our VIP area provides the opportunity for you to create a private space with a set‐up of your choice including company branding or a special display if required. The room is best suited for a smaller group of between 20‐30 guests.
We suggest you catch the 5.00pm sailing from downtown Auckland enjoying the scenic cruise through the Hauraki Gulf on the way. On arrival at Matiatia stroll over to the Pavilion to board a shuttle bus which will take you up to the start of the walkway where our staff will greet you with a chilled bottle of Waiheke Aqua water or Waiheke Island Brewery’s ginger beer.
A private guided tour with our trained headland guides will take your private group on a 1.5 hour tour down the stunning coastal walkway sharing insights into the sculptures, the concept and the artists involved.
The walk concludes at the Pavilion (at approximately 7.30pm) where you will enjoy a glass of Waiheke blanc de blanc on arrival along with canapés and beverages in your private VIP area, followed at the end by something sweet, tea and coffee before catching the 9.30pm ferry sailing back to Auckland.
