Auckland’s Liggins Institute Presents – Couture Car Boot Sale

Danish Supermodel Helena Christennsen has declared her support for this year’s Liggins Couture Car Boot Saleby donating a new, signed Gucci handbag that will be raffled at this year’s event. Ms. Christensen has a specialrelationship with Gucci and has personally selected this handbag from the Gucci range. She is proud to bemaking this gesture of support for the Liggins Trust. Tickets for the raffle for this new Gucci handbag will be onsale during the night.

Gorgeous fashion, luxury cars and beautiful champagne will converge at The Liggins Institute Trust’s 2011Couture Car Boot Sale on Thursday 15 September 2011 at Team McMillan BMW in Newmarket, Auckland. This isthe third year this successful event has been held and tickets are always in high demand.

The wardrobes of Auckland’s most stylish women have been raided and Auckland’s top boutiques havegenerously contributed a selection of coveted NZ and international designer clothing that is all available for saleon the night.

The Couture Car Boot Sale will showcase beautiful, top quality pieces from an exceptional range of designers.This is a rare opportunity to purchase new and pre-loved, exquisite designer pieces and, most importantly, all ofthe proceeds raised at this special event will benefit medical research at the Liggins Institute which is dedicatedto researching infant and child health and development.

The designer line-up includes garments from Helen Cherry, Liz Mitchell, Adrienne Winkelmann and EGGMaternity, along with selected items from international designers. A selection of stunning designer accessoriesincluding handbags and shoes will also be available on the night.

There will also be a good range of childrenswear with labels like Pumpkin Patch, Kid Republic and U+Baby.

A new feature for this 2011 event is the ManZone for the guys featuring special technical workshopdemonstrations and displays of new BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce models plus Sealegs’ newest recreationalvessel. Automation Associates, in conjunction with Panasonic, will be showcasing a state of the art highdefinition home theatre system featuring the largest plasma screen in New Zealand and The Whisky Shop will beproviding whiskey tasting . The men will also have the chance to purchase a great range of designer menswearand silent auction items.

Included in a great line-up of items for a silent auction are: items of Orsini Fine jewellery; an Elisabeth Ardenbeauty care gift basket; a weekend away in a BMW with one night accommodation at Hyperion Heights; atug boat tour on Auckland Harbour; an opportunity to go on a race with a 52 foot racing yacht; a Sealegs VIPExperience on the Hauraki Gulf for 2 people; a six course degustation dinner party for 6 guests catered byDawson’s Catering; and six bottles of fine Matakana Wines.

    This sounds like a fun event for a good cause = if you have any spare cash. Have to say, I like the sound of the ManZone too - what woman doesn't like BMWs, boats and home theatre systems - and whiskey tasting for that matter ... and isn't it often the women that choose their man's clothing too!

    It might be too late by now, but you can also donate "all those unwanted by beautiful designer clothes, accessories and childrenswear that take up space in your wardrobe." For more details have a look at the website

      just got back from it... apart from the fact my name didnt seem to be at the door it was all good =P haha they let us in anyway!! and we were greeted at the door with a glass of bubbly!! but funily enough it was the manzone we both enjoyed best.. the cars we were drooling over.. and they had a plasma tv that was like 3m!!!!! it was HUGE!!! and it was funny watching all these grown up men in quits playing playstation on it!!
