Bloody Mary

½ Shot of Vodka

2 Shots of tomato juice

Decent splash(es) of hot sauce

Dash of Worcestershire sauce

1/3 Shot of lemon juice

Pinch of salt

Pinch of pepper

Stalk of celery

 


Combine all ingredients, pour back and forth between two mixing glasses. Strain into an ice-filled glass before garnishing with a celery stalk.

        Taking another look at the Bloody Mary, maybe it could be served as cold summer soup in a bowl.... might be quite yummy with a different mind set - spiced, boozy tomato soup!

          I always add wine (white, red, brandy, vermouth, sherry etc.) to my hot soups anyway so it's not really very different. I used to have an old great uncle who sometimes had dinner with us when we were little. He used to sneakily pour his wine into his soup and then demand his glass be topped up!

            LOVE a good Boody Mary...or even a Virgin Mary. The secret to a good one is not to be stingy with the hot sauce and Worcestershire...splash it in there and the drink really has a great bite. LOVE IT.

            Oh man, I don't even want to know what's in that cement mixer!

            I don't mind Tomato Juice - esp if served with vodka. Feijoa juice, however, is devine. I wonder what cocktails are made with Feijoa Juice?

            One of the Bloody Mary ingredients is "tomato juice" so if you have 5 a day could you class that as your 5+ veges per day!!!!!! Cheers :)
