The Coca-Cola ‘Share a COKE and a Song’ Survey questioned more than 1200 New Zealanders on the importance of music in their lives and it turns out that well over half of us Kiwi’s confess to inheriting some musical favourites from our mothers:

  - 80% of those rating their mum’s taste in music say it’s  ‘great’ (19%) or ‘okay’ (NB: Doesn’t include respondents who selected ‘doesn’t apply to me’).

 - When discussing her music collection, just over half of us confess to sharing some music favourites with mum, including 63% of those aged 18-24

 - When describing their mother’s musical taste, almost one quarter (23%) of men rated it as ‘bad’ or ‘horrible’ compared with just 17% of women

Chelsey has one prize, including a Coca-Cola branded cooler bag, a dozen 600ml bottles of COKE & COKE Zero (even selection of each, variety of years), and 2x Coca-Cola branded ear buds.

My Mum is a huge fan of Justin Beiber, and i hate to say it, even though i say i dont like him i still sing along with her in the car! To get our "cool factor" back a bit ha, we went to Fleetwood Mac together and it was AMAZING, my mum transformed into her sixteen year old self again and had a great time.

Years ago, before I went on my big OE, I had amassed quite a large collection of vinyl albums, they included all of Dire Straits, Meatloaf, The Rolling Stones and UB40 etc.
Eventually the time came for me to have my own place, so I mentioned to Mum I would be coming to collect some of my gears.
That was fine until she told me I couldn't have my albums because "me and my friends sing them at Karaoke and we need them to learn the words"
Well knock me down, she kept them and the only ones I got back was Pink Floyd, "because there's not much singing on them"
