I have split ends that are taking over my head! Help?

Start with getting a trim or haircut to remove the split ends, then work on getting you hair back in top condition with a range or hair care products that are specifically targeted to hydrate dry hair.

My hair looks like straw and I have an important event to go to in three weeks. Is there a quick fix to help me?

Yes! The best quick fix for hair is to use a nourishing mask, that will work to hydrate and repair damage hair.

What causes dry hair?

Many things cause dry hair including general wear and tear, heat styling, the sun, and also not maintaining your hair with the right products.

Can I still straighten my dry hair?

Yes you can still straighten your hair, but it is best to use your irons on a lower setting like 150-175 degrees. It’s also good to use a heat protectant spray like to protect from heat damage and add shine. Another thing that will help is to only glide over the hair once, and don’t use too much tension.

Other than hiding my hair under a hat, is there a particular style that will make my dry hair look good?

The ‘Top knot’ is one effortless look that looks great even on dry hair. To enhance the style finish with a shine mist that will enhance the shine for a quick fix.

Ryan recommends Sebastian Professional's Hydre Range for dry hair.

Nice tips! Thanks :) I get split ends a lot and I have to keep getting them trimmed, but you're right, hair products do help. I got the argan oil from the Pro Naturals hair care line and it helps a TON with dryness and fried ends.

My hair was very dry after having my daughter and then it started falling out, I thought it just needed more moisture and I was putting as much conditioner on it as I could to try and make it healthy again. It wasn't until I was talking to a hairdresser that I found out that it was my hormones after having a baby. Apparently It can change heaps about your hair, some people with really curly hair end up with straight hair after having bub. After a few months my hair started to go back to normal and my hair is thick and healthy again. Amazing what hormones can do.

AHA! (light goes on in brain) i have been putting my hair straighteners on to too high a heat!!! That explains why no matter what i do to try to avoid dry, split hair it just keeps occuring. I have now writting down on a piece of paper and stuck it to my tongs so i know what temp. to leave them at! Hallelujah!!!

I've spent the last few years trying to sort my hair out. Essentially you seem to get what you pay for. I have finally found some Loreal shampoo that seems to help! Essentially I had to cut it to get rid of the damaged parts. Once a hairdresser told me that when you have dry hair it becomes all frizzy as it is trying to get more moisture from the air so more moisture should = less frizz. I think.
  • Castor oil acts as lubricant
castor oil hair works very well as a lubricant for the hair. It coats the hair and protects it from friction damage during washing and combing.
