All that is happening now is happening for a reason. Be patient. Do not worry if you don’t understand what is happening in the now, just be patient and all will become clear. read full article

Patience is not in my vocab... :s

its funny i used to be so impatient... but its because my hole family was and i learned it from then.. but then i lived with my partners family for a while and i learned how pleasant patience was... and started to take it on myself...

I do try but sometimes I struggle with this one!

not my strong point! will have to try to be more patient!

There aren’t many quotations that give a negative view of patience but here are a few:

When we talk about equal pay for equal work, women in the workplace are beginning to catch up. If we keep going at this current rate, we will achieve full equality in about 475 years. I don't know about you, but I can't wait that long - Lya Sorano

Intuition is a suspension of logic due to impatience. - Rita Mae Brown

There are very few things in this life I cannot afford and patience is one of them. - Larry Hagman

Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead. ~Mac McCleary

Reading a novel in which all characters illustrate patience, hard work, chastity, and delayed gratification could be a pretty dull experience. - Thomas Perry

Patience: A minor form of despair disguised as a virtue. ~Ambrose Bierce

Beware the fury of a patient man. John Dryden

Alcohol gives you infinite patience for stupidity. - Sammy Davis, Jr.

He preacheth patience that never knew pain. - H. G. Bohn

Lack of pep is often mistaken for patience. 0- Kin Hubbard

Patience has its limits, take it too far and it's cowardice. - Holbrook Jackson

... and from me:
""The best way to learn patience, is just to wait for it to happen!"

Impatient people are often the ones who get things done. It's a lot easier and wait for things to happen than to actually MAKE them happen.

And as far as 'everything happens for a reason'... I believed this up until the point that my ex-husbands 18 month old daughter died unexpectedly one night. There is no reason for that, nothing good has come of it (she would have been celebrating her 6th birthday today). Since then I've been inclined to believe that things don't happen 'for a reason'. They just happen.

Last year I planted a vegetable garden but not only for the obvious reasons of cheaper veggies but most importantly to teach me to be patient with the things that really matter...

I was/am going through a few growing up issues with my teenagers....time and just being there to hold them through the scary times of hormonal tantrums and all the changes really challenges my patience as a parent.

Dealing with my own issues and not forcing the process along but rather letting it meander through it's own course and learning to be patient with the healing process has helped me, ironically, heal faster.

And most importantly tending and nuturing my veggies , watching them grow, taking pleasure feeding my family from our own veggie patch has reaffirmed and helped me reclaim the real me and helped differentiate between allowing something to take it's natural course or nuturing it along - (a more kinder way of putting it lol!)

That's an interesting approach. My 9 year old tries my patience. I don't mind it so much during the day (though honestly the mess and constantly having to repeat myself drives me a weeny bit crazy) but it's night time, when I'm finally by myself and able to get some work done in peace and she keeps popping out of bed with the most inane excuses. Grrrr. And this has been going on since she was 4, so I'm not sure patience is going to help, except that eventually she'll move out. We have almost dealt with that particular issue, but I know their'll be more. Maybe when they crop up I'll go plant something to remind myself there is a time and a place for patience. :)
