I am a big advocate of getting enough sleep.  This is key in feeling great and managing body shape yet many of us struggle to get a good 7-8 hours in.  Lack of sleep can wreak havoc on your moods, your waistline and your health so it is a good idea to spend a little time looking at how you can make some small changes to improve your sleep. This is so true! I have worked out that eating chocolate (which contains caffeine) in the evenings really affects my sleep, I have to have my treats before 4pm!

Sleep apnea is a prime example of sleep deprived, and as mentioned eating prior to going to bed is a no no

I never would have thought that rice and pasta would help you sleep! Its amazing what you learn.

I've tried all sorts of food to help with trouble sleeping, none of it seems to make a big difference for me.

I have heard that bananas are good for an evening snack - as they contain both carbs and tryptophan, both of which help sleep - is this true?

While i am trying to lose weight and get a good night sleep at the moment this has been very informative. Thank you!! Now it shouldn't be a struggle to get up for my morning run!

Carbs for dinner - wow that's the first I have heard someone say that. I cut right down on carbs thinking i dont need them before I go to bed. Definitely could be a reason my sleep isn't so great, will try this and see how a bit more carbs will affect my sleep then..
