TREADMILL vs BIKE vs X-TRAINER, preferences?

The good old VS question

Trying to figure out what I should spend more time on?

I weirdly find that I get a lot sweatier biking than I do running, that goes with the cross trainer too - when I thought running would be best?

I'm not sure which is best, or which burns the most calories, but I prefer bike as I can watch TV at the same time. It's the only way I can do it. In fact, I wish my TV was powered by the bike so I HAD to ride it when I watched :)

my trainer always said he never met anyone who didnt benifit from running!! so treadmill!!

StillMe

Well, I have to say my father didn't benefit with all the leg and hip problems he now has. And I don't either, but that's probably because I don't actually do it. I think low impact is the way to go.

Anna

yer that is the only issue i would think about... because it is hard impact esp on your knees and hips... but it is good for weight loss... so i guess... use it while your wanting to loose the weight then use low impact when you are just maintaining your weight?

Im not sure I've never used a cross trainer before, but I always enjoy biking and I like the treadmill, I only usually walk fast on the treadmill though Im not up to running on it.

You forgot to mention DOG!!!

Dog definitely should feature as a fitness device!

Certainly ours is as she refuses to let us off for a night and we can't fold her up and put her in the closet and forget about her either (well we could but we'd probably have a nasty visit from SPCA)

:)
