Any favourite authors/books?

Does anyone have any favourite or recommended books/authors? I really enjoy Jodi Picoult, Maeve Binchy, Mary Higgins Clark and Sidney Sheldon. I also love the Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I am looking to read some new books though! Who are your favourite authors/ what are your favourite books?

Anything by Nicolas Sparks is a good light read.

Terrygirl04

I like Nicholas Sparks too. A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks is one of my favourite books. It's a bit cheesy, but I love it and have read it several times.

Michelle Holman is great. Also Juliet Marillier if you like fantasy. Paranormal authors Richelle Mead & P C Cast are both good as well. The last two authors also write for teens but their adults books are great and very humourous. Meg Cabot's adult books are also light and fun reads. I will read just about anything but these are some of my favs.

i am at present enjoying the witness by nora roberts, i am rather new to this author and have only read two other books in the trilogy of Innboro, about to read the third of that one soon, the witness is rather different and more to my liking, but all in all i really enjoy her books, i am also a big fan of cathy kelly, lesley pearse, and have enjoyed many maeve binchy books, yet to read her last one before her sad passing.so many good authors out there ,another one being James Patterson, i like many genres of writings,a mixed bag to be exact, many crimes, thrillers, love stories.

Terrygirl04

I have heard of Nora Roberts, but I have not read any of her work. I will look out for her books and for the other two authors that you mentioned. I forgot all about James Patterson, I should start reading his books again. Thanks for the recommendations jewellnz.

I was so sad to see Maeve Binchy pass away last year because she was my favourite author. I did however listen to an audio interview with Ciara Geraghty, another Dublin author and are keen to read her new book Lifesaving for Beginners. Has anyone read this book?

Terrygirl04

I was so sad too to hear that Maeve Binchy had passed away. The last book I read of hers was Minding Frankie and I really enjoyed it. I had not heard of Ciara Geraghty before, but the synopsis for Lifesaving for Beginners on her website sounds really good! And so do some of her other books. Thanks a lot for mentioning it Andypandy.

OK, I have just been introduced to 50 Shades of Grey. I got so sick of people talking about it but still having no idea what it was about, so my hubby bought it for me for xmas (ironic right?) and I cant put it down... Im only on the first book and have heard it gets a bit repetitive in the next books but I am loving it so far. so nice to have something sexy to read for the ladies!!
