Next Top Model Sues Agency For Rejecting Her For Having Big Hips

When will it ever end, a modelling agency rejected a model because her hips were 98cm, and wanted them to be 90cm, even though she won Holland's Next Top Model with a measurement of 92cm, why does it seem these modelling agencies are getting more and more extreme with their expectations of models.

So sad, can only imagine some of the things these poor girls do to keep their contracts etc. Good on her I reckon to stand her ground......When I look at the picture in the article I think she looks beautiful and gosh those are definitely not big hips.....love to see the size of the hips on the people working at that agency.....what do you think?

Much appreciated such a great amount for sharing this amazing data! I am anticipating see more postsby you! view site

Heavens, this girl is 5ft 11in tall. 90 cms hips on a girl that tall would make her practically a telephone pole! It makes me so angry when I read stuff like this and I wish that women would unite on this sort of issue and take some action. What happened to the strong women of the 1970s who fought so hard for women's rights. Women seem to be going backwards and molding evermore to societies superficial expectations that have no intrinsic value.

What a load of utter crap!!! Its unnatural how skinny they make models be...

I was seeing red, after reading this article too.....she is a beautiful girl with wonderful hips....apparently not in the modelling world....one has to question the direction the fashion industry is heading towards if girls get rejected on this basis....and what kind of message does this send to younger girls....I do hope one day....this type of BS gets quashed......

It really is so harmful, more so today. What's worse is that they know by now the harm is does to so many young girls, starving themselves to look like these impossible ideals. They need to be held responsible for their actions. THe world should be following in Isreal's footsteps. http://photoblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/20/10771664-new-israeli-law-bans-underweight-models-in-ads

She should take them to court, she wouldn’t be the first young model to win such a case. If you look at the Net there are many girls who had similar disputes and won for being over weight. That is a huge knock for a young girls confidence. I agree what sort of message were they trying to give.

She did take them to court, Clyde & won.. It's in the article in the OP

It is totally horrific that we support those in the fashion industry who show their garments on ultra-thin models. As long as people buy their clothes, they will do keep doing it. This is not only happening overseas but here in NZ and I have already written my share of protest letters to NZ designers who perpetuate this ghastly practice. We all say it's terrible so don't just sit there; join me and try to do something about it if you feel strongly about this issue too.

This article is an appealing wealth of informative data that is interesting and well-written. I commend your hard work on this and thank you for this information. You’ve got what it takes to get attention. model agency Zurich
