Lush sugar scrub!! its cheap (only $7.50 a bar... and lasts quite a while...)... I just crush it up and store it in a little tub... then you scrub the areas that need it... after about a week you start to see results!!!

Ooooh thats interesting Anna, never heard of this before. I have heard that drinking water is fantastic....But I may have to try this out. $7.50 is a reasonable price too.

Personally I have tried 'my silhouette'...it does absolutely nothing! I don't even know if its still on the market anymore. I've noticed that even very slim girls experience cellulite, so no matter what your size, most people experience it SOMEWHERE on their body! Well I think...

Although it is VERY cold at the moment, it is suggested that after a hot shower, by putting it on a cold rinse it tones your skin? Worth a try I guess...maybe that would be better for the summer months though :p

Apple Cider Vineger - I have heard it does wonders for everything!!!! Google it, you will be quite possibly amazed at the benefits of it. Some strongly dislike the taste (it obviously tastes like vinegar). But I have heard of great stories from drinking it with hot water etc....

Anna

there is another lush one thats like a soap with a scrub in it... sure you can ask them and theyll know... if didnt work as good as the green one for me but worth a go if the green one doesnt work for your skin!!

Bernadette

I have a lush store really close to where i live so on pay day I think it will be worth a visit...how long does it last? and you reckon it works quite well? i wonder what part of it makes it work?! sounds interesting, worth a shot :D

Anna

did you give it a try???

I have always followed the advice that there are no miracle 'cures' for cellulite an this is just a normal part of most bodies. Here is a simply written article that explains more:

"Cellulite is the lumpy substance resembling cottage cheese that is commonly found on the thighs, stomach, and butt. Cellulite is actually a fancy name for collections of fat that push against the connective tissue beneath a person's skin, which causes the surface of the skin to dimple or pucker and look lumpy.

You can check to see if you have cellulite by pinching the skin around your upper thigh. If it looks a bit lumpy, you probably have it. And if you do have cellulite, you're definitely not alone: Most girls and women — and some men — have cellulite.

Several factors influence whether a person has cellulite and how much they have. Your genes, your gender, the amount of fat on your body, your age, and the thickness of your skin are all associated with the amount of cellulite you have or how visible it is.

Whatever the cause of cellulite, it's important to know that there aren't any miracle products, treatments, or medicines that can make it go away. For example, some fancy salon treatments that promise to get rid of cellulite simply cause your skin to puff up through deep massaging, temporarily reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Treatments like liposuction (surgery to remove fat) and mesotherapy (injection of drugs into cellulite) are either expensive or may produce only temporary improvement. Many doctors even warn that liposuction is not an effective treatment for cellulite because liposuction is designed to remove deep fat instead of cellulite, which is close to the skin.

If you decide that you want to try to reduce the amount of cellulite you have, the best thing to do is to decrease excess body fat. If you think — and your doctor agrees — that you are overweight, eat fewer calories and exercise more. Experts agree that an exercise routine that combines aerobic exercise with strength training is the best weapon against cellulite. In the meantime, if you want to conceal your cellulite, try using a self-tanning product. Cellulite tends to be a little bit less noticeable on darker skin."

No matter if you are fat or thin, man or woman, black or white - people have cellulite. Mostly why we don't see it on celebrities in magazines is simply because it is airbrushed out.

I look at these pictures and I wonder why we don't like tthe look of cellulite. If most people have it regardless of their body weight, I wonder, have we all been brainwashed into yet another media driven phobia?

Anna

i think we just dont like ugly things.... maybe the media has taught us that... but.... yer those pics look ugly to me...

I'd have to agree Wice I think the beauty industry has made us aware of cellulite and shown it in an unflattering way, but in saying that I don't really like the looks of those pics....I am not to sure about everyone getting cellulite though well at least ones that are visually seen as shown in those pictures....I wonder if genetics has anything to do with it....

Mmm - It's quite a question. Do we find things beautiful or ugly purely as a result of what we have been taught and the general norms in society - like the once considered beautiful Reubenesque women that people today label as 'fat' y?

Looking at that dimpled flesh, I can't see any reason why it should be more offensive than looking at smooth flesh (compare rough and smooth water or fabrics).

....I blame a lot of how things are seen today squarely at the feet of media....especially when it comes to the way teenage girls see themselves as oppose to their idols they see in teen magazines....of what the perfect shape, size, hair, etc etc what ever is....it has become totally distorted and I feel for teenage girls....who try to achieve the ideal of that perfection...based on airbrushed celebrity or model pictures, or what some in society profess it to be....
