There’s nothing that brings back memories of childhood more than these Toasty Marmite Soldiers and Eggs. For Marmite fans among you, this recipe is the perfect way to liven up this old favourite.
4 slices wholemeal bread

- Bring a pan of water to a simmer
- Add 2 eggs, simmer for 2 minutes if room temp, 3 minutes if fridge-cold then turn off heat
- Cover the pan and leave for 2 minutes more
- Meanwhile, toast 4 slices wholemeal bread and spread thinly with butter and Marmite
- To serve, cut into soldiers and dip first into the egg, then a few mixed seeds
